Usage HUD · updated 2026-10-12
Privacy
Usage stays on your Mac by default. Usage HUD has no account and reads no browser cookies. If you enable a README badge, the app shares only the selected provider, window, percentage, observation and reset times, confidence, and badge appearance. That badge is public to anyone with its link. Turning sharing off removes its published snapshot. We keep a per-badge count of landing requests (including bots and repeats), with no visitor identifiers or cookies.
To show API value and Activity, the app reads the coding tools’ session logs on your Mac and keeps only token counts, model names, times and project folder names. It never stores, shows or sends your prompts or messages, and none of this leaves your Mac. The built-in command line and MCP server are read-only and send nothing anywhere; they never output prompts, file contents or paths. Once a day the app asks this site whether a newer version exists; that is an ordinary web request, carries nothing about your usage, and an update installs only after you say yes. We count these checks by date and app version (from the request's user agent) to know roughly how many copies are in use. We don't record your IP address or any install ID.
These pages and the download have no third-party analytics scripts or advertising trackers. We count page views and downloads on our own server: the page path, the referring site, the browser family and which button was used. We don't record your IP address or set cookies.
Tips go through Stripe's hosted checkout. We don't receive your full card number. For each tip we keep the Stripe session ID, amount, currency, payment status, creation time, test or live status, product identifier, and email, for receipts, refunds and support. Your email is used for nothing else.
The old launch-price reminder list is closed and we won't email it. If you joined it, ask us to delete your address.
Cloudflare hosts these pages and the download and processes web requests. Stripe and Cloudflare may process technical request data to operate and protect their services. Cloudflare application request logging is disabled for the store. We keep tip and order records for support and recordkeeping.
The free claude-usage-check command reads files on your computer and sends nothing anywhere. You can check its source: github.com/Thalia-Bloom/claude-usage-check.
